THE OFFICIAL EMAIL OF NOR’EASTERS BASEBALL

NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Good afternoon Nor’Easters Baseball Families,

Happy Monday! While the weather brought some changes to the schedule this weekend, it was nice that many of our teams found a way to play baseball throughout Saturday morning and on Sunday.

This is a special time of year as during the week we get to check in on our high school-aged players who are competing for their school teams before watching all of our 9-14u kids compete on the weekend.

Hats off to our 12u White team who finished the weekend 3-0 as well our 13u Inferno team who went 2-0-1. We look forward to seeing our teams back on the field this week!

Best,

TEAM SPOTLIGHT

Nor’Easters 13u Inferno kicked off its divisional play with a 2-0-1 weekend, picking up a pair of wins over Cannons Baseball Club.

Over the three games, the Inferno offense was the story as they pounded out 23 runs throughout the weekend. Adam Caruso centered the attack as the Inferno catcher went 6-for-13 with three doubles and three RBIs.

The 9u Blue Team showcased a flair for the dramatic over the weekend as it capped off its slate by overcoming a 7-1 deficit on Sunday morning to win 15-7.

Carter Cummings and Thomas Thibeault each got clutch RBI singles in the comeback while Will Vogt and Liam Bean each had a pair of hits.

Our 12u Stampede team went 2-0 on Sunday defeating the Northeast Longhorns Orange 8-7 and 8-1.

Leo LaMont was the star of the weekend as he collected four hits including a double and a triple. The 12u Stampede team is back in action on Saturday against the Jr Spinners Prospect team.

After being unable to play Saturday due to rain, 14u Prospect went a perfect 2-0  on Sunday defeating the River Rats 6-1 and 2-0.

In game one, Zach Russo was the story on the mound as he pitched two scoreless innings while striking out four. Drew Pulsifer threw a gem in game two, tossing a complete-game shutout in just 70 pitches.

14u Prospect plays the Minutemen on Saturday at 2 pm at Austin Prep High School.

HIGH SCHOOL STANDOUTS

While our 9-14u players have been showcasing their abilities in Nor’Easters uniforms, our high school aged-players are starring for their high school teams.

Chelmsford and 17u Runbird National RHP Braydon Gray had a superb opening day performance throwing six hitless innings with 12 strikeouts and no walks in an 8-0 win over Lawrence. Gray’s next outing for the Lions (2-0) will come Wednesday against Merrimack Valley Conference foe North Andover.

A trio of Central Catholic arms also showcased their abilities. Ryan CloutierFrancisco Melendez, and Joshua Florence – all Nor’Easter Runbirds – combined to throw eight innings of three-run ball while striking out 18 in a 4-3 extra-inning win over Catholic Memorial.
